Texas Hold'Em is one of the most popular versions of the card game poker, which is offered most often by casinos and is played in poker tournaments. It can be played by 2 to 10 players and offers countless possibities to get a good card combination and outwit other players with tactical bluffing.
The aim of the game is to get the best winning hand over 4 rounds with the 2 hand cards or the community cards.
Victory or defeat is not just determined by a good hand but also by the right tactics. Do you have a lucky poker hand and are you a also good bluffer? Prove your talent with the most popular card game in the world!
At the beginning of the game, the 2 players to the left of the dealer have to place their bets or pass. The player immediately left of the dealer automatically surrenders the small blind (half the minimum bet amount), and the next player to the left automatically surrenders the big blind (minimum bet amount). The game automatically calculates your bets.
Afterwards all players are dealt 2 hand cards, which are only visible to the players themselves. Apart from the 2 players, who have already surrendered the 2 blinds all other players can now also buy into the game, call or fold (quit the round). Once everyone has decided the first 3 community cards on the table, the flop, will be laid.
The first player to the left of the dealer starts. All players are now in turn given the chance to bet, call, check (neither bet nor fold) or fold.
The "Check" option is not available as soon as a bet is made in the current betting round. In this case, all successive players may only call, raise or fold. If all players choose to check, then the next card will be dealt.
Players can match players bets by betting the same amount. If a player wishes to raise, they must bet the big blind value as a minimum.
After the second betting round, the fourth community card, or “turn” is laid on the table.
It runs the same way as the previous rounds of betting. Once complete, the fifth community card, the “river” is revealed. The final betting round will then begin.
If there are still players in the game after the last betting round, the showdown starts: Here the player with the best 5-card combination is declared the winner (hand cards and/or community cards; the combination may involve both, one or no hand cards). If the best combination of cards consists of purely community cards then the remaining players split the pot between them. If players have the same hand, the “kicker” will be used to determine the winner.
Once the showdown is over, the role of the dealer moves over to the next player in a clockwise direction and the positions of the players change accordingly. A "D" will be displayed next to the current dealer.
